STUDIO RECORDING RATES/POLICIES
Below is our list of rates. All recording rates include an engineer and use of all the house instruments (which include numerous vintage guitars, basses, and amps as well as a full drum kit and a Hammond B3 organ). Check out vectorcds.com if you are in need of graphic design and/or CD duplication as a service.
Payment for projects less than 11 hours:
All session dates are to be paid in full before dates will be secured and will be booked with start and stop times. If your work is not finished at the end of a session and you'd like to go past your stop time, ask your engineer if the time is available. If so, you will be charged a flat hourly rate for extra hours and payment is expected at the completion of that session.
Payment for projects more than 10 hours:
A down payment of an estimated half of the full project price is to be paid before session dates are secured. The balance is due upon completion of full project.
No master mixes or track files will be released before full payment of project is made.
Pricing:
1 to 2 hours = $75 per hour
3 to 5 hours = $60 per hour
6 or more hours = $50 per hour
Vinyl and tape transfer to CD or DVD = $50 flat fee for single transfers and $50 per hour for multiple tapes or records.
RGS accepts the following payment methods: cash, check, credit card, debt card and PayPal. (There will be a 3% charge for credit, debt and PayPal payments) All Wisconsin residents' payments are subject to 5% sales tax.
Customers are charged from start time to stop time. Showing up early does not help the engineer and does not save you money. It will just slow down the set-up process.
Please tell the engineer if you'd like rough mixes from your session. The session is not completed until the rough mixes are finished and you are handed a CD. Please account for this extra time.
Cancellations:
Rock Garden Studio understands that things happen out of people's control. Illness, family issues, work schedules, etc… can force you to reschedule a session. Though, session dates are precious and last minute cancellations hinder not only the studio, but other artists that are scheduling a timely projects.
Customers will be charged $50 for the cancellation or reschedule of a session within two weeks of session date.
To be fair: Customers will be credited $50 if the studio cancels or reschedules a session within two weeks of a session date.
Storage device:
All customers will need a storage device for their project. You may bring a Fire wire drive from home to store your project or RGS will supply one for you at no up-charge. Most projects use well under 20 gigs of storage.
It's a good idea to back-up your project at the end of each session. RGS keeps your project on file but cannot be responsible for manufacture's products. In other words, hard drives fail. Make sure you have a back up.
Prices start at $100 per drive.
